Hyatt Caribe Hotel in Cancun wows with the views May 05, 2007
Beautiful hotel in a great location.
I stayed here in May 2007 for four nights. The room has central a/c, which comes in handy for this tropical environment. Elevators worked properly, entrances were clean and well kept. The hotel was undergoing construction of a new conference center at the time so construction started early and continued during the weekends, which was annoying but manageable. Live peacocks roamed the tropical landscaping and were beautiful. The downside is the noise they make at night (screeching) and, of course, their residual "tokens" which were usually promptly cleaned away by the staff. The housekeeping department was not that prompt in our room and was stingy with replacement of shampoos and towels, but overall cleaned the room pretty well. The views from every room was simply stunning! All rooms are ocean view and unobstructed. One pool was for families and quite lovely, the other was for adults and offered cabanas and a swim-up bar. This pool was breathtaking! Both the family and adult pools had great beach access. This hotel boasts the largest stretch of private beach in Cancun with loads of white sand, turquoise water, and beach chairs with umbrellas for the convenience of the guests. No crowds on the beach, it was great! The main restaurant in this hotel was pricey with food that was a bit average. The cafe' off the lobby was a great place to get iced coffee in the mornings along with a place of fresh tropical fruit for a good price. The Cajun restaurant was also pricey so I didn't eat there during my stay. However, the jazz bar adjacent to it was a place I frequently during my evenings for a fun time with my friends. Across the street was a hopping nightclub that was quite popular with many in the city. Also across the street about 1/8 mile down the sidewalk was great Italian and Seafood restaurants, both of which I tried. Excellent food, lovely atmosphere, average pricing for dinner entrees, and clean. My room rate was discounted as it was considered shoulder season (before spring break) so the nightly rate was abotu $175 per night. It was a very lovely hotel and at the price we paid, a good value with a good central location. Part of the Cancun is made for relaxing! travel blog |

Beautiful & convenient hotel!!! Jun 14, 2005
I loved this hotel. It was close enough to walk to all of cancun's hotspots but far enough away so that drunken shananigans wouldn't be too much of a problem. There was also a bus stop right in front of the hotel which was convenient for those places a little too far to walk or if you need to bring a sick(drunk) friend back asap. The buses ran regularly and were inexpensive. The rooms had excellent beach views. The restaurants were amazing! There were gift shops near the front desk. It was an overall great place to stay:)
