excellent family museum Jul 25, 2011
This was a interesting Museum, I spent half a day just wondering around and enjoying all the exhibits. Its especially great for kids, with loads of quiz's and interaction areas, very educational! Its a big museum, with plenty of shows, head downstairs to the basement level to see two awesome documentary shows about the wild! It was defiantly one of my highlights in Ottawa, I would strongly recommend coming to this museum, it a short bus ride from downtown on the number 10 bus. There’s a fairly big restaurant with a small gift shop on the side! Great day out for the whole family and well worth a visit! Very Educational too! Overall rating 8/10.

The Nature Museum Jul 28, 2010
Visiting Canada’s national, natural museum is a great experience. Housed in a castle-like building and costing $10, we spent about 3 hours exploring the different collections, including the Water Gallery, Earth Gallery, Fossil Gallery, Mammal Gallery, Bird Gallery, the Animalium, the Discovery Zone, the Special Exhibit, which at the time was about frogs, and the Wildlife Photography exhibit. Opened in 1912, and newly renovated, we really enjoyed our visit to this museum. It is a great place to take the family, as evidenced by all the giddy children seen there.

* An interesting fact about this building- in 1916, it became the emergency headquarters for the Canadian government after the Parliament Buildings were destroyed by fire.
