Arriving in Toronto

What do you do when the wind chill is causing it to be -22? Honestly I have never felt cold like it, it feels like someone is slapping your face. The rest of my body is fine, but there is only so much of your face you can cover! I actually got an ice cream headache walking to the museum yesterday. Had a look at the forecast for Montreal and it's even colder, lows of -28 *shiver*The museum was good, sort of like the Natural History in London, except $20. The queue to get in was huge, probably ...

My friend Rudy decided to take the plunge and get married this past week. I love this guy to death and I do believe that he found the perfect girl for him. However, for ppl who know me, I am not really the wedding type of girl BUT since it was an Italian/Portuguese/Latin American wedding I knew that I had to make an appearance for a few reasons. 1.) The food. 2.) The booze 3.) Well, I guess its cuz my friend is tying the knot. The reception was very lovely, I told all my close girl friends th...

Vancouver

Vancouver is a really beautiful city to visit.  This is one of my favorite cities in all of Canada. The Pacific Northwest will take your breath away because all of it's mountains, lakes, rivers and wide open spaces. Vancouver is a place that never sleeps, there is something always going on. Something’s to see and do in and around Vancouver: View the city from the Vancouver Lookout Tower, see Stanley Park, hike Lynn Canyon, walk across a swinging bridg...

Kananaskis 100 Mile Relay Race
posted by:
Jun 22, 2008
There are ten legs to the race rated in difficulty from a 2 to 10 out of ten. The race is held the third weekend in June and teams are selected on a draw basis. The weather we've experienced over the years has been driving snow to blistering heat.  I have experienced both of these in a single 10 kilometer span running down from the Highwood Pass.

This is actually the fun part when we joined TravBuddy at a later date, I mean when a whole bunch of buddies had signed up before us - we're kind of having this urge to backtrack and fine-tune our memory to gather as much detailed information as we could about our past travel experience to turn it into a journal and have it shared by this community. Well, I guess another motivation that could push us even more is the notion that we are into writing and just love doing it. Speaking for my...

March 26th, 2008. My last entry was back in November 2007. Things have been busy and all over the place over here but in a good way. At work, new projects keep coming in, allowing me to flex my creative muscle. The variety is the spice of life and its keeps things interesting. I'm happy, living healthier and things are just fantabulous. I wish I could say I am only a few months from my Pond Jump, but unfortunately, I can't. As time goes on...the more I settle here, the more I learn and exp...

Question: What's something Canada has that the United States doesn't have? Answer: A fantastic view of Niagara Falls! Not only that, but Canada has turned The Falls into the Ultimate Tourist Trap--maybe not as big as Orlando, but certainly with the most Tourist-traps-per-square-meter... In just a a couple of blocks there are 4 wax museums, 4 haunted houses, an indoor zoo, an indoor water park, endless other money eating "attractions"... Clearly, the US doesn't have a monopoly on over the...

So in my other travel blog I talk about my Japanese friend Tomoko. In March of last year she came out here and stayed a week with us so we decided to go to Vancouver and show her the touristy sights. There was about 9 of us so we were like a big mob. We did all of the same stuff as the last two Vancouver trips. But this time we went to Canada Place as well. We always feel dumb getting people to take pictures of us at places because they ask where we're from and we say Maple Ridge and they sou...

Well the big day has arrived.  Where did all of the time go?  It snowed with a vengence yesterday so the place is buried in about 6 inches of snow.  A fitting scene for our departure I suppose.  No doubt,  this being Calgary it will be 15 or 20 above by the weekend.  This is the part of travel that is the best and the worst.  You're very excited about going but the thought of a long marathon of plane travel these days doesn't exactly fill ...

Well this morning is bitter sweet. Sad to be leaving Vancouver but happy about the next part of our adventure. The morning is sort of wasted and then it is time to check our luggage in and then find our way to the check in area for us. Once on board we checked out our cabin. Basic but nice. Clean and comfortable. This afternoon was just finding our way around. Of course there was also the safety drill. We went to the main dining room at the allocated time and met the other 2 couples to b...
