Campo dei Mori. Jan 31, 2018
Campo dei Mori is a square located in sestriere Cannareggio. It is named after three brothers who came from the Peloponnese; in Greece. They were silk merchants who came to Venice in 1112 and built a palace in this small square.

The palace has four nice statues made from Istrian stone on its walls. These were carved in the 13th century. They should represent three brothers and a servant. The statue you see on the corner was used as the Pasquinoes statue in Rome. Paper with sarcastic quotes and complaints were put to it.
