Camping Village Roma Travel Reviews

My friend and I went to Rome in 2006 and we stayed at the Camping Village Roma, which we found via the hostelsclub website. We stayed there for ten days, but the website only allowed us to book 7 and then 3 days seperately, so we had to move. That wasn't a big problem though. Its possible to pay with all major credit cards.
There isn't really a shuttle service from the Airports, so you have to go to one of the travel-agencys there for a shuttle or go by train and bus, if you know your way. They do have a shuttle service to Termini station, but you have to book that four days early (which they don't tell you.) The rooms start at 18 Euro per bed. The bed is usually in a three-bed hut, which is kind of made out of plastic. There is a refridgerator, an air-condition and a small bathroom. Its usually mixed rooms, but the people who stay there are mostly between 17 and 30. There are older people too, but they often stay at the camping place, which is also available. The even cheaper beds are in tents, but I have not been in one of those. But what makes this location really special is the surroundings, there is a shallow pool, two whirlpools, an affordable and good restaurant and two bars. One bar is quiet and open air, and the other is more of a club, with differing music and drinks. Its a non-smoking area. There is a supermarket just across the street from the Camp, which sells almost anything. And it also has an ATM. The only minus was the distance from the inner city. The busstop is right in front of the camp, but its usually quite full, so going with lugguage is a bit annoying. And a secret tip, when coming back from the city, instead of waiting forever for the bus at Cornelia Station, just go ten meters around the corner and take the other bus there. (Most of the tourists didn't seem to know that.) |
