Perna Mar 13, 2015
The camping Perna is located in a pine forest outside of the Orebic town on the peninsula of Peljesac, by a nice long pebble beach. The place is the most popular for windsurfers, as sea currents are strong here in the Pelješki Channel, but also other guests can enjoy wonderful sea and beach. Across the channel is the beautiful Korcula town on the same name island. There is a boat to take you over there several times per day for an average price and in a short time you are already in front of the walls of the old town. In the Orebic town there is a ferry port for car transportation to the Domince port on the island Korcula, south of the town. In the time of Yugoslavia, Perna was a military resort for their families, but today it is renovated, a private property open for everybody.

At reception we rented a mobile home with sea view for seven days. In the bungalow we had a bathroom with a shower, an equipped kitchen with dining area, air-condition and a satellite TV. Everything was clean and neatly. We liked to sit on a comfortable furnished terrace more than inside of the accomodation.

We had full board in a restaurant and for drinks there was a bar at the beach. Food was nothing special, but coffee was great. There was also a little market in the camp with almost everything a guest could need, so we did not need to go to the town. Parking and WiFi on request were free. Many guests came with a dog but had to pay extra.

In a windsurfing center you can rent sailing equipment. The stuff was helpful and friendly. Besides surfing, swimming and other summer activities by water, we went hikking to the top of the highest point of Pelješac and got wonderful views of the sea channel, surrounding islands and the mainland. For those who do not mind mountain climbings, there is a lookout beside a monastery and an old graveyard on the way to the mountain top.
