Camping Les Melezes Ceillac Reviews
See the mountains through the larches Jul 26, 2010
The Queyras is not one of the highest mountain areas in France but I have found none that beats it for sheer beauty. It also has the advantage of a very favourable micro climate. Ceillac is the first village you reach and, when we were there some years ago, seemed to be keeping a ski resort at some length. Sadly something was wrong with the film I used there and my photos are no good.
At that time the camping Municipal was in the process of development and the Camping les Melezes is beyond it from the vilage on the same road. Hence I can't say anything about comparisons between these sites. You may like to look at http://www.ceillac.com/campings.htm which covers both - only in French but you can get enough from them without being a great linguist.
At that time the one thing that some would count against the Camping les Melezes was its unisex washing and toilet facilities - can't say it caused us any problems.
Melezes means larches for anybody whose French is worse than mine and the profusion of these trees guarantees some shade. The photos on the website give an excellent impression of what it was like.
Part of the list A bit of France
