Camping Blaarmeersen Ghent Reviews
Blaarmeersen, the place to be in summer Dec 21, 2010
The 'Blaarmeersen' is a recreation park about 5 kilomtres from the town centre of Ghent. You can reach it by bus or bicycle.
When it gets warm in summer lots of people hang out here. The entrance is free as a pedestrian. For a car you pay € 2,50 for a day.
The Blaarmeersen has a lot to offer.
There is a camping ground with a little shop to buy the basics.
But the most visitors are day visitors. You can have nice walks here along the walking paths.
There is a minigolf area, soccer field, basketball court, tennis court, skate park, fitness machines,...
The most people hang out at the artificial beach. You can go for a swim there. There are lifeguards during summer. There are water slides and there even is a separate area for very small children with a water playground park.
You even can rent a boat or peddle boat.
Along the beach there are stands where you can buy drinks or ice creams but there is also a restaurant with large terras at the level of the beach.
As a local, living 15 kilometres from Ghent, I visit the Blaarmeersen with my friends or son very often.
