Camp Xugana Okavango Delta Reviews
Comfortable luxury in the delta Mar 06, 2011
Camp Xugana is sitauated in the Okavango delta, north in Botswana. It's on an island in the middle of the delta, so one is picked up at the airstrip by a boat who takes you to the camp. Arriving at the camp you are greeted by the staff who has great smiles and a cold beverage. They escorte you to the tents which are light and airy.
The tents are permanently placed in beetween the trees, and many have views overlooking the delta. The beds are big and soft, and when we arrived they were decorated with flowers saying "feel free in Xugana", and we did:)
The tents has a bathroom with hotwater and electricity.
The lodge where the meals were served was a 2minute walk from the tents, overlooking the water. Amazing place to have dinner while you look at the still river and hear the hippos.
The food was always delicious and varied, with lots of fruits and vegetables.
The safaris were riversafaris with a boat, or a walkingsafari or in a mokoro, floating peacefully on the river.
The guides have a lot to tell bout the delta, so sharpen your ears!
While you have siesta, it's a nice poolarea to relax by. They have a box with refreshments and sunbeds to lay in while glancing out in the jungle and the baboons walking around.
