Camotes Island Overview

The Camotes Islands are a group of 4 islands that are part of the province of Cebu, in the Visayas. Access to Camotes is usually via ferry boat either via Danao City in Cebu Island, or Ormoc City in Leyte Island.

Camotes' two main islands of Pacijan and Poro are connected by a causeway. Ponson Island is separated by the Camotes Sea, lying about four kilometers northeast of Poro. Tulang, which is the smallest island and with a nice beach and dive area, is located off the northern tip of Pacijan.

There are about 20 or so beach resorts catering to domestic (mostly from Cebu) and international tourists. Camotes is one of the yet to be discovered destinations which thankfully has not yet been overrun by mass tourism.
