Camino Real Hotel Managua

We stayed at the Hotel Camino Real for our final night in Managua. It has a great location right next to the airport and has a free airport shuttle bus to get you to and from the airport.

The Hotel is in a nicely landscaped secluded grounds and has great facilities. There are a couple of restaurants and beautiful pool. The lobby is pretty nice too. One part of the lobby is outside which is very hot but it sure looked nice. It is adjacent to a casino too if you are into that kind of thing but if not you would never know it was there.

The rooms are pleasant,modern and clean and you would think you were in some nice hotel in the United States except for the nice views of the tropical grounds outside the window. The beds were comfortable (except for we got ravaged by bedbugs and were itching for days afterwards, but that can happen in any place)

We ate at the restaurant in the Hotel and had a very nice meal. It was not overly expensive and was comparable to what the price of the hotel room was.

They do keep a taxi driver on the grounds that you can hire for the day and that is quite convenient. We hired him for $25 (United States) for about 4 hours.

Brush up on your spanish if you are not fluent because the staff is not all that able to help in English.

I would recommend staying at the Camino Real if you are heading out of town the next day and would like to be near the airport. The neighborhood does not put you in the heart of the city so you don't get much culture here.
