quick leisurely hike Mar 31, 2009
Cameron Falls is located within Hidden Lake Territorial Park, on the Ingraham Trail. It is approximately 50 km east of Yellowknife and a 20 minute hike. There is a parking lot and porta-potty available at beginning of the trail.

It is well-marked and relatively easy considering I'm a novice. You will trek mostly over rocks, some pretty steep but there are also a few steps along the path.

I went once during spring when the falls was still half-covered in snow. The other time was during summer just to check out the falls in its roaring glory.

Apparently there is a bridge that you can take to go across but both times we were there, we spotted a grizzly bear across the river feasting on berries and decided not to become his main course. I have not heard of any bear incidents and had always seen fellow hikers along the trail.

I plan to come back for the third time and view it from the other side and have a closer look of the falls.
