A magical night at a beautiful theatre Sep 10, 2012
The Cambridge Theatre is one of the West End's best designed theatres in my opinion. There are 1,200 odd seats over 3 floors (Stalls, Dress Circle, Upper Circle) and every seat in my experience has a good view(I had been to the theatre before to see Grease and Chicago and sat in the highest section)

The theatre is located in a lovely little hidden courtyard of London, accessible from Holborn and Leicester Square stations, and when I went there was a lot of bunting strung across the streets which added to the quaint feel.

Inside the theatre is large with the traditional trappings of West End theatre; luxurious red velvet seats and beautifully decorated bar and auditorium spaces. The theatre was built in 1929/30 and this is apparent in the general decor.

The ticket prices here are always relatively dear, but this is in keeping with the cost of shows across the West End these days.

The production itself, Roald Dahl's Matilda, was a visual treat! It was truly magical and I was able to enjoy it from a lovely seat in the Dress Circle (G14) with a glass of wine in hand!
