The Angkor Temples are fast deteriorating.. Would it be right to say "Go See It Now", it could be because of the tourists there.. :)

After our mammoth sleeping session, I get up pretty early, have breakfast at the hostel, then book our next place for tomorrow, the Monkey Republic, which was recommended to us, by some American dude at Poipet> at $6 a night, on the beach, we think it's a steal, and it has good security (Sihanou…

Siem Reap is just the coolest place. Everyone is so laid back and friendly and just smiling all the time. The airport was just so pretty ( how gay does that sound???) as well and didn't really seem much like an airport at all , more just the foyer for a hotel, except for the row of hard faced ( and…

A hard trip by the river from Vietnam gave my bf and I many lessons after trying to join tour package in Vietnam for the first time which was totally a tourist trap tho it wasn't a problem for most back packers who get used with it. Luckily we met a good man from a travel agent in Phnom Penh who managed our trips in Phnom Penh to Siem Reap before returning to Phnom Penh and flying to Ho Chi Minh. Anyway it was a great experience to see Angkor Wat.

DAY 1
Some cunt rang our room at 5 am for a wake up call which we didn’t ask for or need, dicks. When I went downstairs and said about it I asked for an apology for the fuck up but as always the are incapable of admitting they were wrong. Idiots!
The day before we had witnessed the hotel owner …

Went to Tonle Sap (the largest fresh ater lake in Asia) for the floating villages. We opted to go to Kampong Phluk instead of the touristy Chong Khneas. We saw only a handful of tourist during the trips which make it less comercialised. In the village where the boat ride starts, we met a boy whose …

We said good bye to Saigon early in the morning and headed to the Mai Linh terminal to catch a bus to Phnom Penh. This started our dragging 7 hour journey to Phnom Penh. On the way, we saw a lot of farm lands - pretty much like in the provinces of the Philippines. Maybe, having been brought up in t…

The road network in Cambodia has come a long way in the last decade.
Most of the main routes are now paved and travel times are a lot faster
than quoted in the guidebooks only a few years old. Unfortunately
there are not may direct routes from "b" to "c". Most people trip ends

The bus ride, though 7 hours all said and done, was actually quite painless. The boarder crossing was made simple with the bus company taking care of visas, stamps, and all those logistics. Arriving in Phnom Penh, we were mugged by tuk tuk drivers, not to our surprise. We ended up…

Day 5.
The day which is supposed to be the highlight of this tour has come. We were off to see the world-renown temples and other art structures of Siem Reap. Cathy and I decided to have a quick breakfast at the hostel's eatery since the tuktuk we hired has not come yet. After finishing our cereal…

Tuol Sleng (S-21) - I have other photos, photos of photos, but I don't think they are 'family-friendly'. Tortured people, skulls & bones, mostly-dead people lying on stretchers...... Could be more horrific, but I'm not sure if this website would feel they are appropriate viewing. I don't know. …
