We crossed the Thailand-Cambodia border where we had to barter with the corrupt border officials who were wanting 30 dollars for a 20 dollar visa! After some time we finally struck a deal of 23 dollars.
Then we had to try and sort out transport to Siem Reap, we eventually found a taxi driver…

My friend took me suburb since i LOVE quiet places. I have met children who have never seen foreigners. this trip made me think. i would do whatever i can do for the village people i met. i have visitted really nice places where no foreigners could go, so i am really happy to see thier actual lives.

First time backpacking, went from Sydney to India, then to Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and finally went back home after about 5 months. Amazing trip, met loads of beautiful people and places all along the way.

Stung Treng, Cambodia -› Don Det, Laos -› …
You would never believe that Laos is located between two visited countries such as Thailand and Vietnam, unless you go there and see it.
Unlike those two countries, beautiful as well but much more tourist, Laos seems to belong to another planet.
You´ll notice it by looking at the people. Children and adults will wave and smile to you not because they want to get something from you, but just because they are authentic.
Laos is a jewel not found yet. Hopefully it will last forever...
