Camberwell Market Travel Reviews

Jul 15, 2007
Camberwell Market is arguably better for Australian 'stuff' than Vic Market. At Victoria Market, if you don't want to buy something, you can go away for a few days and think about it. When you come back, it's probably still going to be there because it's a mass produced t-shirt that says 'Australia' on it.

Camberwell Market has stuff that foreigners mightn't necessarily be interested in. It's got a lot of 'Australiana' and English stuff; old Australian books, vintage clothing, vases, swap cards, and generally what you can call 'a lot of crap'.

I went there this weekend and bought an old framed print of two Paradise Riflebirds ($5), a set of coasters from England ($5), some shoes ($4), and two bird books; one about Finches and their care, and another about Victorian birds (each $5).

The centre can get quite busy, especially when scouts and other large groups take up many of the easier climbs. Perhaps c...
