San Francisco, CA (May 15-16)We

sunshine, and a nice 75F. At Fisherman's Wharf, there are many shops
and restaurants, we ate at Boudin at the Wharf and the food was
delicious. Try one of their soups (preferably the tomato) s…

The last day of our trip. Our flight back had been scheduled for late afternoon. We took advantage of this opportunity and went to the beach again. No, not Venice beach. In those days I was simply a little bit ignorant of typical "party spots". We chose a rather quiet beach close to Pacific Palisad…

We are in San Francisco!!
I'm sitting here in my new home, with the view of the Golden Gate Bridge outside the open livingroom window. I can hear the cable cars clanging outside and the soft breeze on my face. Our luggage is piled up against the wall.
Our …

For thirty years the community of Gilroy, about an hour south of San Francisco, has hosted a three day festival for its biggest agricultural crop, garlic. Each year it seems to get larger and more and more foods are offered. One of the most famous of all is “Garlic Ice Cream”! Ye…

There is no other way to describe this seatmate en route to London, perhaps from another planet? Was seated on the very last row of the plane. What could I have expected after having purchased the ticket a week before the departure. Sat in the window seat, (fo…

Liz "Quest" is visiting SoCal for a bit and I have the honor of hosting her for some GREAT LA fun! I wanted to be the "hostess with the mostest" but unfortunately I had to work during business hours..9am to 5pm. So poor Liz had to fend for herself! Thank goodness though she's such a great person an…

Every Memorial Day weekend is the Watsonville fly-in and air show where we park the airplane. So we usually go away if we don't go to the air show. The air show is actually quite an event, with pilots from all over flying in, and all sorts of airplanes will be available for viewing.Since there is t…

As the Port of Los Angeles developed in the 1930s, Croatians from the islands of Dalmatia immigrated to fish, and later work the port. You hear Croatian spoken on the street, which is unusual, since there are only a couple million Croatians in the world, but again, 30,000+ of them live in San Pedro…

I've been wanting to try skydiving for YEARS but could never get my friends or family to agree to it. So I started working on my coworkers. Somehow, a group of five fearless people made a pact to jump out an airplane at 12,500 feet. We all headed down to the drop zone in Lake Elsi…

I thought I owe it to myself to do a blog of where I live since I live in my beautiful city by the bay, San Francisco, and all the wonderful places that are close by. My boyfriend was in town visiting me over the holidays, so I did my best playing tour guide. I tend to take it for granted that I live in such a great place. Hopefully, these pictures will always be a reminder of just how lucky I am to live here.
