Our Last Stop :( Travelodge Hotel Macleod Calgary Sep 30, 2008
Well, we reached our last stop of this long journey across Canada. I never would have thought of moving out west and never wanted to consider it as I have all my family in the east and friends I met in High-School (Ottawa) and University (Sudbury) ...
We were able to park our U-Haul and give Furbee a much needed walk then went into the hotel.
They gave us a suite on the bottom floor ... I could smell cigarette smoke as I walked down the stairs and when I look into our room the rugs looked like they had to be replaced 5 years ago ...
I guess at this point we all decided to stay otherwise it would mean getting all our suitcases, loading the truck, and looking ... having arrived on the 30th of September 2008 we had to stay here :( for two nights as the house we were moving into was only available on October 1st and no sooner ...
Well Dan woke the next day to drive around the city with a boss from Quebec as he was officially beginning his new job ... Mom, the girls, and I walked to grocery store to pick up much needed food, the girls insisted to go into a dollarstore near by, and we did other stuff ... walked back, excitedly, to the hotel to cool off with their aircontioning ... and make a lunch for us girls ...
Again, being away from home, I find it hard to say anything good about this place for I was so focused on my new place of residence ...
Dan left his cell phone plug there, they never phoned, and when we did they never came across it ... I really wanted out but at the same time didn't want to face the realities of a new place ...
Overall, it wasn't clean, they seriously need to renovate ... I wouldnt go back unless I knew they had improved 10 fold!!
