Tremendous place for ANYONE! Jun 04, 2008
Calderglen Country Park has many things. It has a Visitor's centre which has an audio visual room, history room, gallery, souvenir shop and the unique 'Hidden Worlds' wildlife experience. A Children's Zoo which is popular with the kids and has a collection of many wonderful animals from goats, guninea pigs, owls to meerkats and coming soon otters. Following on from this there is a play Area for younger children which has scramble nets, chutes and climbing frames while for older children the more demanding adventure play area will provide hours of fun. The equipment also caters for children with special needs.

Its main attraction is the over 8 miles of nature trails which on the lower grounds, runs along side the Rotten Calder river. There is also a Conservatory area which hosts a wide collections of plants, and tropic animals from around the world. Finally there is the Courtyard Cafe, which if you wish to sit and relax with a cup of tea and a sandwich or perhaps something more substantial, you can choose from the range of hot and cold meals available at the cafe.
