Cala Ratjada Vacation Guide
Cala Ratjada (also known as Cala Rajada) is a fishing village located on the north eastern shore of Balearic Island Mallorca.
Since its foundation in 17th century, it has been mainly inhabited by fishermen, who went fishing for rays (="ratjadas") and crayfish.
During the building boom in the 1970s caused by increasing tourism, Cala Ratjada was almost spared and therefore kept its character of an old fishing village with a harbour and nice town centre.
The beautiful boardwalk features many lovely restaurants and bars.
During summer vacation season, Cala Ratjada is one of the most popular party locations for German tourists.
