Cairo Tower Nov 13, 2012
Da Cairo tower is a nice place , i love it so much . Its nice to be up high in Cairo. It gives one a prospective view of this great city, with it's very modern and very ancient districts. Anyone who has stood atop the Citadel or from the upper floors of some of the taller hotels is aware of the grand views that Cairo offers.

One of the best views is from the Cairo Tower, located on Gezira Island (Zemalak) just north of the Museum of Modern Art (which is also very much worth a visit), which provides a panoramic vision of Cairo. This 187 meter tall tower, in the form of a latticework tube that fans out slightly at the top, is said to imitate a lotus plant, and ranks only fourth among the worlds highest towers. It is made of granite, the same material often used by the ancient Egyptians, and is about 45 meters taller than the Great Pyramid at Giza.

While revolving restaurants are hardly the rage in most cities, Cairo boasts not one, but two in its dining repertoire. The Revolving Restaurant at the Grand Hyatt hotel has long been a staple of high-class, high-priced panorama. In this review, however, we shine the spotlight on the lesser known Revolving Restaurant at the ubiquitous Cairo tower.

Dinner above all Mar 18, 2011
When we first arrived at the Cairo Tower we were a bit unsure if it would actually be worth standing in line for one hour just to get a view of Cairo from above. But what else was there to do this hot january day? A lot, but at least there was a little bit of shade from the tower so we stayed.

We went up in the tower by the small lift and then through the small hallways, tourists squashing past one another, out onto the deck. There was no regret. The view was beautiful and the safety net huge, the risk of falling down even though one manage to climb over the fence is minimal.

We could see all the way to Giza and the pyramids, and we pointed out the spot where our hostel was located in the city center. It was easy to see why it feels as one is being polluted in town, the smog lies thick over the buildings.

As we went down one level to the restaurant we enjoyed some great guava juice and I honestly don't remember what we ate, the view was much more striking than the taste of the food, and I remember that the small joint we went to a few days later gave us a much more enjoyable gastronomic experience, for less than half the price.

"Panoramic view from Cairo Tower" Nov 24, 2010
The Cairo Tower is one of the most popular landmark and highest building in Cairo city. It is higher than the greatest pyramid of Giza. It is the best place to see panoramic view of the city. There is rotating restaurant. I haven't tried the restaurant but it seems so fantastic. Rotation takes approximately one hour. There are some other restaurants. I have visited many towers in this trip and i can say that it wasn't the best one. But if you visit Cairo, it will be good decision to visit this place :)

Cairo Tower gives one a prospective view of this great city, and also known as Borj al-Qahira, located on Gezira Island (Zemalak) just north of the Museum of Modern Art (which is also very much worth a visit)

At 187 metres, it is 43 metres higher than the Great Pyramid of Giza.

some people say one of its first visitors was Hollywood movie star, Katherine Hepburn.

The best time to visit the tower is at sunset.

The Cairo Tower opens every day from 9:00 in the morning until 1:00 the next morning.

This is not a sight one should miss. enjoy the beauty of the city from the top.
