Cahal Pech Archaeological Site San Ignacio Reviews
Quick Trip to Cahal Pech Oct 20, 2013
We went and visited Cahal Pech, or "Place of the Ticks", was a home on top of a hill for an elite Mayan family. It is up the hill from San Ignacio. It costs $5 per person to access the site and museum.
We walked the hill (took about 30 minutes) and saw the rangers drive past as we climbed. There was no gate, so we explored the park anyway. It had various buildings, including a 25 meter tall tower.
This was the first of the Mayan ruins we saw and it was fun climbing the buildings.
