Cagliari Sardinia Feb 08, 2017
Cagliari is Sardinia s capital city and largest on the south coast of the island. It is a very interesting place, with a cathedral and town hall etc. There are exceptional views from Terraazza Umberto of the town.--There is a railway system around the island of Sardinia, with a station in Cagliari.-The Town Hall near the seafront was built in calcareous stone, which gives it its white colour. The city was formed in the 8th century, today the population is about 422,000..-Bastion Saint Remy built to link the district of Castello to the quaters of Marino and Villanova below.--The elephant tower is up in the castle area.--Via Roma is a covered shopping street.--Terrazza Umberto is above the Bastione Remin the Castello area. There are lifts.-- The Cathedral is in Castello area, was built in the 13th century.--I stayed at the hotel 4 Mori,150m from the railway station.
