The hotel was founded in the 14th century and the first recorded reference to it dates back to 1353, when it was owned by the Zoswitzers, burghers from Cheb. In 1992, the chateau was registered as number 4997 on the list of cultural monuments in the Czech Republic. This was largely because of its unique set of 15 tiled stoves that have been beautifully preserved and are now on display to visitors.
