Cafeteria Emanuel

We were looking for a recommended cafeteria for breakfast while we were in Old Town - Quito, but we never found it. We were just walking back looking for something interesting and we found this small but cozy cafeteria.

They serve mostly breakfast and snacks. Most of the customers are policemen, so the place is safe, hehe.

The owner is also the waiter and you feel the familiar environment of this place. We were the only new ones here, rest of the customers were regulars - good sign!

They are specialized in local food. We got tamal and empanada de verde (pastry made of plantain). They offer juices and coffee. It´s usual here to have soup for breakfast, which you can try here, but we didn´t.

If you are walking around old town early and want to have breakfast in local place, surrounded by locals, this is a good choice, plus is very cheap!
