Cafe des Amis is an excellent Vietnamese restaurant located right at the river in Hoi An. In the evening you can order a multi-dish set meal that should fill up even bodybuilders in weight gaining mode.

You can choose between veggie, meat and seafood set meals and the dishes change each day. I only know the costs for the veggie one which was 90'000dong, high price for Hoi An - but you get a lot for the money and it was by far the best Vietnam food i've tasted.

The ambiance in the small restaurant is great, nice pictures on the wall and loud french chansons playing in the background. You even get the cook walking around and checking your satisfaction. They will also happily show you how to mix the different dishes, e.g. how to use the special kind of bread

If you come early in the evening you can see the sun set with the busy market in front of you, watching people loading / unloading stuff, tourists being overcharged, etc... all while enjoying your fantastic meal :)

Highly recommended!
