Cafe Moxo Springfield Reviews
Eclectic Lunch May 12, 2010
Cafe Moxo is an eclectic cafe in downtown Springfield. They offer a menu of sandwiches, salads, and soups as well as breakfast and pastries and desserts.
Customers order from the counter, pick up their food, and pay before sitting down. The lunch menu has many delicious sandwiches to choose from with cute names and great combinations, such as the Chatty Kathy, a grilled sandwich of chicken, Swiss, red onion, dijon mustard on focaccia, and the Ken's Club: turkey, bacon, Swiss, lettuce, tomato and tarragon mayo on multi-grain. I chose the Hummus Among Us, chunks of chicken, roasted red pepper hummus, tomato, spring mix and Parmesan in a whole wheat wrap. The roasted red pepper hummus is really what made the sandwich quite tasty. It was rich and creamy and the flavors of the sandwich combined together nicely.
The dessert selections looked amazing, including a humongous cupcake that would surely serve like a cake. And, I would definitely return for breakfast. There is a dish on the menu that I found intriguing: the Jason French toast.
Cafe Moxo also has a selection of coffees and cappuccinos such as turtle mocha and Grasshopper (creme de menthe) that sounded fantastic.
Located in downtown Springfield, parking can be an issue, but it's convenient if you are in the area for business or checking out the Lincoln sights. I must say, though, this would not be my first choice in dining options. It's good, but there are other Springfield restaurants I'd check out if I was just visiting.
