Deep Ellum is the renovated warehouse district located just three blocks east of downtown Dallas. This 170 acres is known as the alternative from the "norm." It is the home of fashion-forward, trend-setting style and the birthplace for many new bands.

Cafe Brazil is my friend, Krisy, favorite place in Deep Ellum. It was a very different atmosphere. Living in a small TX town I'm so used to the "cowboy, chicken fried steak" atmospher that it was very relieving to see a different culture in Dallas. I'm not sure if it was Deep Ellum or Cafe Brazil but the culture and atmosphere is very different in that section of Dallas. It reminded me of South Street in Philadelphia or some of the places around New York City. I am already thinking about my next trip to Deep Ellum and Cafe Brazil.

The only down-fall to Deep Ellum is that most likely you will have to take a car or taxi from your hotel. So if you are planning on drinking make sure you have a plan to get back to your hotel safely.
