There are many small cafes in Mostar so you will not have to go without your coffee. We went to this one by kind of accident since we went inside a small courtyard which houses one of the oldest if not the oldest mosque in Mostar. Inside this little courtyard is an obviously a mosque but there is also a small market and right down at the river is a little café with an amazing view. You can actually only get down to the river here if you paid a couple of Konvertible Marks entrance fee or you can go down and have a cup of coffee or tea at the café down at the edge of the cliff facing the river.
Only problem is it is a bit difficult to actually find the entrance to the café. You will have to walk inside a clothing shop and then find your way to a small stair leading down to the terrace of the café. The café is fairly new and hasn’t got a kitchen for the moment so you can only order drinks - the owner said they might start serving food at some stage which could make this an excellent spot for dinner with a view. And due to the location right next to a mosque there is no license to sell alcohol so you have to settle for Turkish style coffee, tea or soft drinks.
But who cares - you basically only go to this place to enjoy the view down the river to the old bridge of Mostar.
