Perfect location. Failing staff. Sep 11, 2011
N59°54'36.93" E10°44'20.15" Before going to Oslo-Gardermoen airport in May of 2011, we had an hour to spend on some drinks. Café Skansen, established in 2008, offered us a perfect terrace under big trees to hide us from the hot spring sun. Immediately ordering drinks became a problem. Staff consisted of students with no catering experience. They weren’t looking after their customers. They were all the time looking at the ground, not noticing anything on the terrace. At last we could order our first round of drinks. It took a very long time to arrive. No speedy delivery at Café Skansen.

Making eye contact all the time with the waiters/waitresses, we failed to order a second round. Time wasn’t on our side, so we decided to skip the second round and ask for the bill. We asked members of staff and they told us to wait for another member who served us. At last he reappeared and it took a while to get his attention. When we asked for the bill, his response was “certainly” and he disappeared again. We had another 5 minutes before we would leave for the airport. He didn’t show up in time and we left without paying. Button-line: cheap student staff members are expensive.
