Café M Oslo Reviews
A wonderful café Jan 24, 2010
Café M is located on Majorstuen, a bustling shopping area in Oslo. I have eaten there many times through the years and thought it was time to write a review about this wonderful restaurant.
Café M has a nice atmosphere and an attentive and helfull staff. The interior is simple, but very tasteful. In the summer they also have outdoor dinning. During lunch the place is like a typical café, but turns into a restaurant at night.
The best part about this place is the wonderful food. My favorite is their fish soup. It´s full of goodies like salmon, white fish, scalops, mussles, shrimps, crayfish and vegetables. I love fish soup and have tried it in many restaurants in several cities, but this is no doubt the best in the country. I always get the soup, but have also tried the chicken wok and the club sandwich. All the dishes are delicious.
Their menu is international and offers starters, salads, mains and desserts. The lunch menu is served until 16:00 and offers salads, risotto, pasta, wok and burgers. Dinner menu is served from 16:00 and their mains consists of salmon, halibut, chicken and beef. They also offer a 2 or a 3 course set menu, pluss a kids menu. As for the dessert, we had the cheese cake. It´s to die for. Last year it was voted the country's best cheesecake by our biggst newspaper. And rightfully so. Served with raspberry sorbet it is a calorie bomb, but SO GOOD! (It only cost you an extra 10 minutes on the cross trainer machine). It´s all worth it, believe me!
I can warmly recommend Café M both for lunch and dinner.
Opening hours are: Mon - Sat 11:00 - 01.00, Sun 12.00 - 24.00
