Café Iguana Reviews

Café Iguana Mar 30, 2008
This posh yet unpretentious waterfront joint is the closest thing you can get to a contemporary Mexican restaurant-bar without flying to Tijuana, save for the price, of course. Café Iguana has an impressive collection of tequila brands numbering close to a thousand (the largest anywhere in the world I heard), an excellent view of the Clarke Quay river traffic, purportedly Singapore's finest margaritas, and near-authentic burritos, fajitas and other Mexican and Tex-Mex delicacies. Reservations recommended, as everyone prefers the riverside tables and never gets enough of the one-for-one frozen margaritas (at happy hour, that is, which is until 8 or 8:30 pm).

True, my friends and I ended up there again last Saturday, the frozen pink guava (my friend Rachel's recommendation) margarita was ridiculously good! Sadly this was after rounds of beer and vodka tonic elsewhere, so a nasty hangover the following day... Well, you take the good with the bad! =;-)

Oh yeah, though the last time I was there, two weekends ago in fact, the calamari was very tough... Have fun, Sylvia! :)
