Irish Town, Jamaica
Café Blue Irish Town Reviews
A cafe with a view Jun 05, 2014
The café and restaurant is located right next to the road through the Blue Mountains and the best feature of the café is the view from the small terrace out back. We enjoy first a cake and a cup of the famous Blue Mountain coffee at the café while we enjoy the view of the Blue Mountains and a lot of tiny hummingbirds coming by to get a little drink of the sweat sugary water which the café and restaurant provides.
The coffee is good and the cake is probably as good as can be expected for a place up here in the mountains where they most likely will serve limited amount of cake during an ordinary business day. We sit and enjoy the coffee and cake - and then decide that we probably need to have actual lunch after we had our desert a bit early. The café is next to a small restaurant called the Crystal Edge. It is two different operations - but we are allowed to stay at the outdoor table of the café since the restaurant only got seating inside and we don’t really want to sit inside in the dark where we can’t enjoy the view of the mountain and the cute hummingbirds coming by frequently.
The food is traditional Jamaican and fortunately it is prepared in a kitchen which runs on gas - this is very fortunate since the Blue Mountain is experiencing a power cut during our stay - which means there is no light at the restaurant.
