Great free alternative to the Phoenix Botanical Garden Feb 26, 2014
Along the northern edge of the resort grounds, at the base of Camelback Mountain, this secluded two-acre garden showcases 250 varieties of cacti and succulents. In addition to seeing native desert plants you can occasionally see animals such as Road Runners, Chuckwallas, Lizards, etc. Since this is a free attraction, it would be a great alternative to the Phoenix Botanical Gardens. Be sure to take the opportunity to walk about and explore the other scenic areas of this beautiful resort. The hotel is also conveniently located to the Camelback Mountain Recreational Area (about a 10 minute drive to the trail-head). If you are into hiking, Camelback Mountain is a must see.
