Cabo da Roca Vacation Guide

Cabo da Roca, Portugal holds a very special place in European geography – it is continental Europe’s westernmost point. With its breathtaking views from cliffs that rise 460 feet above sea level and picturesque lighthouse, Cabo da Roca is a short 25 miles from Portugal’s capital, Lisbon, and 10 miles west of Sintra. Cabo da Roca is easily accessible by bus from Sintra or Cascais, with buses departing approximately every 1.5 hours.

You can enjoy refreshments in the nearby cafe while enjoying the panoramic vistas “onde a terra acaba e o mar começa (where the land ends and the sea begins).” This statement can be taken literally as the cliffs plunge into the Atlantic and blue ocean is all that can been seen for miles around.
