Cabo Rojo Beach Reviews
One of the best beaches Apr 20, 2009
One of the best unspoilt beaches in Dominican Republic in my opinion. Found in the south of the country nearby pedernales, the area is known for intense red soil. Nearby is Bahia de las Aguilas the best unspoilt beach in the county and AlCOA bauxite mining factory which is controversial and now shut down.
The beach is not very big in comparison to Bahia de Las Aguilas but the water is clear and clean. The sand is soft and waves are not that big..the beach is kind of deep though.
Downside is that since it is not a tourist destinationt there are no nearby restaurants, not a lot of lodging and is difficult to get to. To access one has to drive the main highway road to pedernales look for the sign that says cabo rojo. The roads are trecherous but if unspoilt beauty is what u seek then this is it.
Nearby on the road is oviedo also beautiful beaches and Parque Jaragua one of dr most precious natural reserves.
