When we first got to Nassau, Bahamas we avoided the Strawmarket and met up with a cabbie who told us that their was great snorkeling at nearby Cable Beach. He charged us $8/person each way to take us to the charming little beach. Cable Beach is located right behind the Atlantis Resort. The beach itself was beautiful and the water was just as gorgeous as it was choppy. After my first step into the water my flipper was whisked away by the current and it was forever lost in the water. Snorkeling at this beach would be impossible.

The beach is covered with palm trees allowing for plenty of shadded areas. There were several coconut trees nearby that we were able to shimmy up to get coconuts. Parasailers soared over our heads. Even though the beach proved to be terrible for snorkeling and swimming, it was great for sunbathing.
