As we werent very organised and everyone in Australia seemed to be staying at Byron Bay we could not get any backpacker accomodation anywhere, instead we ended up in a cabin at a campsite. It was a really nice cabin, with a sofa, tv and fridge. The three days we spent at Byron were more or less spent on the beach and dodging the rain and yes I am still in Australia. Went to Australia on July 27- August 11. Went to Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne. Had great time there. Beautiful country, cool ppl.

I had been to byron many times since 1995, and had been diving alot, but until this trip had never been in the right place at the right time to encounter dolphins , up close.
Every morning i woke early, before sunrise and headed to check out the swell, and on one morning noticed a pod of dolphins swimming across the bay, 8 of them, days went by and i saw them regularly, similar swim pattern, it was just a case of getting out to them before they came past, and wait....

From 02-2005 till 08-2005 i travelled along the eastcoast and the outback of Australia for 5 months. We spend 1 month in New Zealand and one week in New York. The best time of my live!!!!!

Hey duuuudes,
I survived my first surf lesson and actually did not too bad! Surfing is pretty fun. It is also extremely exhausting. I think if a person surfted often they would be fit, you basically never get to rest. From the moment you start carrying your board down to the beach (they are much heavier than you'd think) you are sweating, waiting for the waves is tiring, trying to stand up is hard...

After visiting family 2 times we took the step to organise an eastcoast tour, starting at Darwin to finish in Melbourne (during the Formula One races in Albert Park).
