Buzios is a town east of Rio de Janeiro (2 hours by car; 3 hours by bus). It is best known as the place Brigitte Bardot visited with her then-Brazilian boyfriend. Since then, Buzios has been a popular beach destination for Cariocas and foreigners alike.

There are about 23 beaches in Buzios, all with different characteristics. There is a surfing beach, a nudist beach, a kite surfing beach, etc.

The main town, Centro, features the chic street of Rua das Pedras (Stone Street), where there are plenty of shopping to be had. There are also good restaurants and bars on Rua das Pedras.

PASSING THROUGH RIO It took alot to get me to my final location.  I feel as though I have been travelling forever.  Fours days on a boat, four hours on a plane (3 seats to lay across!), and four hours on a bus...and now I am at the beach on a nice drizzly day!  I landed in Rio de Janiero at 2AM and waited it out in the airport until 4:30AM when I thought it was safe to go out onto their dark streets.  Truthfully, I had done the research and knew that the first bus ou...

i leave buzios by bus today to go back to rio, then catch a flight back home. spent my morning roaming the main street of buzios and just taking random pictures of school children hanging out by the brigitte bardot statue and the fishermen doing their thing.  i suppose now is the time to reflect on my trip.  .... or maybe later....

Byron and Joe got up early and went on a snorkeling expedition.  Brett and i explored the town.  Brett got a manicure and we went to a fancy hotel and got an hour message for 120 reals.  After, we found Joe and Bryon chatting with an expat named Filip, living in Buzios for 12 years.  He showed us around and introduced us to his friends.  We had a couple of drinks at Morgans Jazz bar, then had dinner at Japa Buzios.  I had medicore yakasoba, and the guys had sushi...
