PASSING THROUGH RIO It took alot to get me to my final location.  I feel as though I have been travelling forever.  Fours days on a boat, four hours on a plane (3 seats to lay across!), and four hours on a bus...and now I am at the beach on a nice drizzly day!  I landed in Rio de Janiero at 2AM and waited it out in the airport until 4:30AM when I thought it was safe to go out onto their dark streets.  Truthfully, I had done the research and knew that the first bus ou...

i leave buzios by bus today to go back to rio, then catch a flight back home. spent my morning roaming the main street of buzios and just taking random pictures of school children hanging out by the brigitte bardot statue and the fishermen doing their thing.  i suppose now is the time to reflect on my trip.  .... or maybe later....

Bûzios is known to be the South American Saint Tropez. It's a claw shaped penninsula with beautiful beaches, excellent restaurants and everything you can wish for on a holliday.

Byron and Joe got up early and went on a snorkeling expedition.  Brett and i explored the town.  Brett got a manicure and we went to a fancy hotel and got an hour message for 120 reals.  After, we found Joe and Bryon chatting with an expat named Filip, living in Buzios for 12 years.  He showed us around and introduced us to his friends.  We had a couple of drinks at Morgans Jazz bar, then had dinner at Japa Buzios.  I had medicore yakasoba, and the guys had sushi...

Búzios – our holiday from our holiday

Day 1 - We are off to Búzios for a few days away from the hustle and bustle of Rio. – For more sun, sand & swim. Just a 2 hour bus ride east of Rio is beautiful Búzios. When we arrive, and after a rip off R$10 taxi for two blocks (silly tourists, not knowing where the hell they are) we arrive at our little villa hostel. We relax for a little while then walk into the main town area which is full of restaurants and boutique shops... (to find some dinner of course).   Day 2 - We g...

Ill Show Buenos Aires Some Fair Winds: Buzios Travel Photos

I'm studying at La Universidad Catolica Argentina in Buenos Aires from July to December 2007 and this is some lame blog I'm trying to write for friends and family to help document my stay there as well as any sporadic jaunts elsewhere that may occur. Who knows? Hahahaha, see that's the thing...I don't even KNOW. So, in the words of an old cowboy who once knocked me over the head with a beer stein in a bar in El Paso, Texas: "I have a blog. I invite you to read all about my feelings."

Buzios is not what it's cracked up to be. It's winter here, so it's the off-season. In other words, the beaches are pretty empty. And windy. Really really windy. At least the food is OK. Right now we're staying with my mom's friend. She has a house down here, so at least Ben and I aren't blowing a ton of money here. I gotta say, kinda dissapointed thoguh. Before I came down here, I was talking with a bunch of Cariocas in DC, and they all told me Buzios aws cool as hell. Not so much. At l...
