Good place for having a tailor made suit Nov 26, 2008
So I wanted a suit. There is a million suit tailors around Bangkok. I chose Johnny's fashion simply because the service and the people thee were considerably better then all the other shops i went too. The quality of my suit is also good, but I don't know if there is any quality difference between all these shops, as they all claime to have the best of course.
The people at Johhny's fashion never tried to drag me in to their shop or use these standard techniques of stretching out the hand and asking "where you from?". They just talked to me a long time without mentioning any suits. In the end that is the reason I went back to them and bought it there. The pushy ones did'nt do it for me.
Talk to Carlos , a really good guy.

I LOVE this.... I feel the same way... it's hard in China as they are so desperate for a sale they just about wrap their arms around your legs... Thanks for writing this review!

" or "So when are you going to buy a suit from me?" Their business acumen is seriously lacking. I had a serious session on the internet. Literally half the day sorting mainly my blog out. I treated myself cheaply by hitting the 7/11 and buying ice-cream, fruit juice, yogurt drink, crackers… Back to Bloody Bangkok.

Tuk Tuk drivers can spot me from a mile away and ask me if I want to see this Buddha, buy that suit, need hotel, see this show, want that girl. I am truly am a "Farang" and I do not like it.  I am completely dependent on them for everything, and I can not blend in.  At least I have… Return to Bangkok - Cobra Show and Farang realization

This makes leaving your hotel without being asked how you are, what your name is and where you're from (of course if you even acknowledge any of the above you will be perceived as an individual who wants to buy a suit then and there - regardless of how sweaty / tired / drunk / busy you may look) … New kids on the blog

…Khao San Road, I told one of the many Indian tailors who try to engage you in conversation in the hope it will lead to you buying a suit that his rival down the road had personally been slagging off his tailoring, saying it was only fit for blind people to wear. I didn't witness a bust-up, but I can only hope that it happened and someone got the pleasure… Bangkok: Take Five
