Buying Leather in Ecuador

Before going to Cotacachi, I didn't know about this. Then Shawn told me, that Cotacachi was the leather capital in the country and he was right.

I could hardly wait until going and shopping, hehe. There are many stores along this street, the busiest in Cotacachi. Just ask for "cuero" (leather) and you they will tell you where to go. It's really easy to find it.

There you can find shoes, boots, bags, purses, jackets, luggage and also small things made of leather, like wallets, belts, keyholders, etc.

Shopping here is cheap and most important products are high quality. I have already been twice in Cotacachi and both time I ended buying boots and purses, hehehe.

The only problem you might have is space in your bag or suitcase to bring the stuff back home. But Otavalo market is close and you can get there a nice bag :)
