lush, home-made chocolate Dec 17, 2010
It's a chain, sure. But the chocolate and drinks in this place are absolutely top class. It's the kind of place I can walk into and just stand around sniffing for a few minutes before stumbling out high on chocolate fumes. The gift packs are pricey, but if you buy a hot chocolate or a coffee, they often come with one of the gorgeous chocolates on the side (well worth the extra few cents you'll pay on top of a Starbucks one, for examples), and some of the bigger stores have nice seating areas, too.

There's one in the airport, in case you miss it, and a few more located in Nassau Street, Grafton Street and Henry Street. They make for great shopping breaks.

The best hot chocolate. Ever! Aug 09, 2006
Even though it is an Irish chain and confectionery, I recommend the Dublin northside store by the General Post Office. You can't get much more than drinks and chocolates, but for a real special treat go for the hot chocolate. For 3 Euros, a scoop of delicious fudgy chocolate is stirred into steamy milk and topped with whipped cream. And you get a piece of chocolate too! There's no seating in the shop, so go out and sit in front of the GPO and watch the traffic go by O'Connell Street. Because the hot chocolate was so rich, I saved the extra treat for later.

I still daydream about the hot chocolate in front of the GPO! I have to say it is the best I have ever had.

There's a branch in the Dublin airport as well, but (like most cafes and eateries in airports is seems), it wasn't as deliciously decadent.
