Green space in Cardiff Jan 29, 2017
Bute Park is a large, green open space in Cardiff, right next to the castle. I enjoyed walking around the park even though the weather wasn't great. The River Taff flows parallel to the park to the west. My favourite aspect of the park was the Animal Wall which borders the park to the south. The wall features carvings of several different animal species such as lions, an anteater, a vulture and a beaver. Also worth a look in the park, you can find the site of a former Dominican friary dating from 1256.

Entrance to the park is free and it is open all year from 7.30 am till just before sunset.
