Giants Causeway
posted by:

Following Carrick-a-Rede we headed up to Giant's Causeway, we had all been there before but decided we wanted to go back. We walked the cliff walks instead of taking the bus to the bottom and that turned out to be an excellent decision! I had never seen the Causeway from above. While we were walking on the cliff walk we started talking to a 17 year old young man from Canada who had been backpacking across Europe by himself for the past 6 weeks. He said that it was a g...

Legand has it.....

An Irish giant, Finn McCool, built the causeway to walk to Scotland to fight his Scottish counterpart, Benandonner. As the legend goes, Finn fell asleep on his way to Scotland. When he did not arrive, the much bigger giant, Benandonner, crossed the bridge looking for him. To protect Finn, his wife laid a blanket over him to disguise him as the baby and fled after seeing Benandonner's great bulk. When Benandonner saw the size of the 'infant', he assumed the alleged father, Finn, must be gigant...
