Bus to/from airport Feb 08, 2011
This is probably in your guidebooks, or perhaps you have received this advice when planning on going to Jakarta, but I didn't see anything here.

Anyway, in my opinion, the best way to travel to/from the airport is by bus. Exiting either the domestic or international terminal, you will see a bus station/overhang immediately across the road.

The cost of the bus is 20.000 Rp., while the fixed cost of a taxi downtown is 150.000 Rp. Buses leave approximately every 20 minutes. The buses are comfortable and travel smoothly.

When heading from the airport downtown, assuming you're heading to Jl. Jaksa, you can get off at the Gambir Station stop. It takes about 45 minutes, give or take. From Gambir, you can walk about 10-15 minutes to reach Jl. Jaksa. You can ask for directions.

When going back to the airport, you can again walk to Gambir station, enter through the main entrance and take a left at the ticket counters. There are many buses that are lined up, and again leave every 5 minutes. If you are not sure, look for "BANDARA", which is airport. The bus will drop off at terminals 1, 2, and 3, announcing the stops.
