You can get a bus from Phnom Penh to Sen Monorom. It will be around $10 I think. It will go to a place called Snoul, then you may have to change to a mini-coach, all included in your ticket price. The road from PP to Snoul is paved. From Snoul to Sen Monorom is not - after about 30 minutes, when you turn off the road outside Snoul, the road becomes quite bumpy with potholes and water run-off trenches. Don't expect to sleep! It will take 6 hours from PP to Snoul, and another 4 hours to Sen Monorom. It is worth the trip. The first guesthouse you come to is the Arun Reah ii, its outside of sen monorom but is very comfortable. No hot water but they will bring you a flask of hot water if you ask, electricty from about 1730 until midnight, and for an hour in the morning, 0600 - 0700 or 0700-0800. But this is the same in all guesthouses in Sen Monorom. Cost me $4 or$5. Highly recommended accomodation. It is about 2km or so out of town, up and down a big hill, but there isn't anything in town worth staying intown for - limited food/cafes/bars etc. Fantastic sunset from the Arun Reah GH.To Siem Reap from PP, take the VIP coach. Can't remember the price of this either, maybe $10. It will take 6 hours. Road is paved all the way. The VIP coach is very comfortable. To get from Sen Monorom to Siem Reap, the easiest way and probably the quickest is to go through PP. Not sure if you can actually do it any other way.Hope that helps.
