Like Rwanda, Burundi uses Francs because of the French influence during colonization. The Burundi Francs also called the Amafaranga is the legal tender. I used the Burundi francs during my tour of Rwanda and the mountain gorilla tracking which covered a total of two weeks in Rwanda and Burundi.
