Burlingame is a small suburb of San Francisco with a population barely hitting 30,000. It’s actually about 20 minutes south of the city on Highway 101. Normally you wouldn’t care about a little suburb like this except for the fact that there are some excellent restaurants and excellent shopping there. It is also very close to the airport, so there are several hotels in the area.
Another interesting fact is that just up the hill is Hillsboro, which just happens to be the 6th “richest” area in the entire US. The reason there are great restaurants, clubs and shopping in Burlingame is because there is a lot of money nearby. If you walk around downtown Burlingame, you’ll be surprised what you find.
