Burkburnett, TX is located about 15 miles north of Wichita Falls and 1 mile south of the Oklahoma border. It's a little Texas community with a small town feel. The population is about 12,000 people. The Burkburnett School District is rumored to be one of the better ones around. Burkburnett literally has no crime.
Burkburnett is currently in a struggle to try to bring new businesses to town. It's close location to Wichita Falls makes it hard for buusinesses in town to survice. In a recent election the citizens of Burkburnett voted to allow the sale of alcohol. Citizens are hoping that this can help bring in some tax revenue that the town is losing due to the only Wal-Mart in town closing its doors. Burkburnett is not quite a destination place, yet. But it is a nice quiet little community.

Burkburnett, TX has been my home since June 05. Burk is located about 15 miles north of Wichita Falls and 1 mile south of the Oklahoma border. It's a little Texas community with a small town feel. Burk literally has no crime.
I used to love it here but with businesses closing its becoming a ghost town with nothing in it. In a recent election the citizens of Burk voted to allow the sales of alcohol. I hope this helps the towns economy and brings more things to do into town.
